  Happy Holidays!

I hope you all had a lovely and beautiful Thanksgiving holiday and celebration with your family and friends. Thank you for those who attended my daughter’s performance with The Glendale Youth Orchestra at Alex Theatre in Glendale several weeks ago. The concert was really fantastic. We have several musicians in Glendale Youth Orchestra who are also members of Tuesday Musicale Juniors. Although Glendale Youth Orchestra is not a large-size orchestra for this season, the orchestra sounded so big and powerful and I have to congratulate Brittany Huang, Sarah Worden and Hillary L. Santoso as piano soloist from TMJ. You all did a great job!!! The reviews from several medias were outstanding!!!

Please don’t forget to sign up on December’s TMJ Meeting for The TMJ Annual Winter Recital on Sunday, January 9, 2011. This is a recital that has attracted some of our Tuesday Musicale Senior and local audiences who love to hear your performances. Several ladies came up to me and invited few of you in several different venues. If you have a music polished and ready to perform, please sign up during December’s TMJ meeting. Practice performing your new pieces during January’s meeting, one day before the TMJ Annual Winter Recital 2011.

I have secured a Master Teacher who is willing to give a Piano Master Class for our TMJ members. I have not secured the location and we are still trying to figure out the best time and location to host this Piano Master Class. If you have the music memorized and polished, you may ask me about the possibility to perform in the Master Class. We have about a month to polish the music and to have it ready. Please contact me if you are interested to participate the Piano Master Class. It’s only for members who have been committed with their performances and attendances. I can only take four participants at the most. The Piano Master Class will be opened to public. Everyone is welcome to observe and hear. You will gain so much new knowledge of how to play your piano better.

The TMJ Annual Callie D. McGrath Scholarship Competition will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 in Donald R. Wright Auditorium at Pasadena Central Library. The requirement is still the same: participants must perform three pieces from different composers, periods and styles. All pieces must be strictly memorized. For instrumentalists, you must perform with your own accompanist. No ensemble work is accepted. Application form will be available in January’s TMJ Meeting.
